ISER Book Launched: A study of the Relationship between Tan Siew Sin and the Malaysian Chinese Community (1961-1974) at TARUC main campus, 22nd May 2022.
The book launch ceremony was graced by Datuk Seri Ir. Dr. Wee Ka Siong, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the TARC Education Foundation. Attendees included (from left to right): Mr. H’ng Gaik Hong, author of the book; Dato’ Sri Dr. Hou Kok Chung, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors of TAR UC; Tan Sri Liow Tiong Lai, Chairman of the Board of Governors of TAR UC; The daughters of the late Tun Tan Siew Sin: Datin Paduka Tan Siok Choo, Tan Siok Eng, and Tan Siok Lee; Professor Ir. Dr. Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UC.
Following the launch, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wong Wun Bin (top right), Deputy Dean of the Institute of Chinese Studies at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), led a sharing session on the book’s themes. Mr. H’ng Gaik Hong (bottom right) also provided insights into his research process and the challenges of chronicling this pivotal chapter in Malaysian Chinese socio-political history.
